AIDS Walk - New York City

Every year, WM Hope Foundation partakes in AIDS Walk New York, which is an annual fundraising walkathon that benefits over 50 local AIDS service organizations. Founded in 1986, it is now the largest walkathon and AIDS fundraiser in the world.

Fundraising Masquerade Dinner

Since 2017, WM Hope Foundation started the masquerade gala, a fundraising dinner event where guests show up in their most elegant gowns to raise funds for the foundation. This year’s event was held at the prestigious Sheraton Lincoln Harbor Hotel, which is located along the Hudson River and overlooks Midtown Manhattan and the Empire State Building.

The event was held on December 1st to commemorate World AIDS Day and this year’s guest of honor was Dr Chewe Luo, who is is the Associate Director, Programme Division, and Chief of the HIV/AIDS Section at UNICEF. Dr Chewe is a paediatrician by profession and child health specialist with almost 20 years of experience in HIV and AIDS and child health. She was gracious enough to join us and provide an update on some the milestones that have been made thus far in the fight against HIV/AIDS.
